Terms of Service
Last updated: August 10, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Peter Trinh for your use of URStoryBook. By creating an account or reading on the site, you accept them.
1. Your account
You must be at least 13 years old to use URStoryBook, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
One person, one account. Accounts created to inflate readership, earnings, or ad revenue will be removed along with any balance they hold.
2. Content you publish
You keep ownership of everything you write. Publishing on URStoryBook does not transfer your copyright, and we make no claim to it.
You grant Peter Trinh a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute your work on the service, and to use excerpts, covers, and titles to promote it on and off the platform. This license exists so we can technically operate and market the service; it ends when you remove your work, except that we may retain copies as required for backups, legal obligations, and for readers who have already paid to unlock a chapter.
This license is non-exclusive by design. You are free to publish the same work elsewhere, keep your own audience, and link readers to your other platforms. We do not require exclusivity, minimum word counts, or posting quotas.
You promise that the work you publish is yours to publish:
- You wrote it, or you have the rights to it. Do not upload work that infringes anyone's copyright or trademark.
- Public-domain and openly licensed works must be labeled honestly as such.
- You are responsible for rating your work accurately, including flagging mature content.
3. Acceptable use
Do not publish or do the following on URStoryBook:
- Sexual content involving minors, in any form, real or fictional. This results in immediate permanent removal and, where applicable, a report to authorities.
- Content that harasses, threatens, or incites violence against real people, or that promotes hatred based on a protected characteristic.
- Content that infringes copyright, including uploading someone else's book as your own.
- Spam, plagiarism, or bulk machine-generated filler published to farm earnings or ad revenue.
- Attempts to manipulate rankings, votes, reads, ad impressions, or the coin economy — including artificial traffic, bots, and clicking your own ads.
- Attempts to break the service's security, scrape it at scale, or bypass the paywall.
We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. Where the situation allows it, we will tell you why and give you a way to appeal by emailing us.
4. Coins, unlocks, and payments
- Coins are a prepaid license to access content on URStoryBook. They are not currency, carry no cash value, and cannot be redeemed, transferred, or exchanged for money.
- Coin purchases are processed by Stripe under its own terms. Coin purchases are final and non-refundable except where refund rights are required by law, or where a purchase failed to deliver.
- Unlocking a chapter grants you ongoing access to that chapter on your account. It does not grant you ownership of the work or the right to redistribute it.
- Some chapters can instead be unlocked by watching an advertisement. That unlock is granted only after the ad network confirms to our servers that the view completed.
- We may change coin pricing and package sizes going forward. Coins already purchased keep the access value they were bought at.
- If the service is discontinued, we will give reasonable notice and a window to use remaining balances.
5. Creator earnings and payouts
- Writers earn a published share of the revenue their work generates, from both chapter unlocks and advertising shown against their free chapters. The current share is shown in your Earnings dashboard and on our creator pages.
- Earnings accrue to your balance and become payable once you have completed identity and tax verification through Stripe and reached the minimum payout threshold.
- Payouts are made through Stripe. You are responsible for your own taxes on what you earn.
- We may withhold or reverse earnings that come from fraudulent activity, artificial traffic, plagiarized work, or invalid ad traffic — including cases where an advertising network claws revenue back from us.
- Advertising revenue is inherently variable. We do not guarantee any level of earnings.
6. Advertising
URStoryBook displays advertising, including ads served by Google. Ads appear against free chapters and between stories in the feed; chapters you have unlocked are not interrupted by them. How ad cookies work and how to opt out of personalized ads is covered in our Privacy Policy.
Clicking your own ads, encouraging others to click ads, or generating artificial impressions is a violation of both these terms and Google's policies, and will cost you your account and your balance.
7. Copyright complaints
If you believe work on URStoryBook infringes your copyright, email trinhpeter15@gmail.com with the URL of the work, identification of the work you own, your contact details, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized. We remove infringing content promptly and terminate repeat infringers. If your work was removed in error, you may send a counter-notice to the same address.
8. Our rights
The URStoryBook name, logo, software, and design are ours. These terms give you no license to them beyond using the service as intended.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. We will give reasonable notice of changes that materially reduce what you have paid for.
9. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided “as is.” We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we are not responsible for the content our users publish — opinions and stories on URStoryBook are the writer's, not ours.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Peter Trinh is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or lost data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to the extent permitted.
10. Termination
You may stop using URStoryBook and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account for violating these terms. On termination, unearned coin balances are forfeited unless the law requires otherwise, and earnings already accrued and verified remain payable.
11. Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be brought in the courts located there, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally.
We will post changes to these terms on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes take effect no sooner than 30 days after posting, and continuing to use the service after that means you accept them.
12. Contact
Questions about these terms: trinhpeter15@gmail.com or our contact page.
